Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated National Buddha Dhamma Adhiveshana organised by Vishwa Buddha Dhamma Sangha at Nagasena Buddha Vihar on the occasion of 72th Constitution Day Celebrations on Thursday.
Government of Karnataka on Wednesday announced the introduction of eggs in mid-day meals scheme. The Department of Public Instruction announced that children studying government schools in seven districts of north Karnataka - Bidar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Koppal, Ballari and Vijayapura would be provided with eggs for the mid-day meals and bananas would be provided to those children who do not eat eggs.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday (Nov. 23) announced Rs. 10,000 compensation for those who have been affected owing to recent heavy rainfall and floods in Bengaluru. Speaking to media persons after inspecting the waterlogged Kendriya Vihar Apartment located at Yelahanka, Chief Minister Bommai said that officials were instructed to immediately release Rs. 10,000 compensation to take up repair works of houses affected due to heavy rainfall and floods.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai instructed the officials to complete works on 30 km of Rajkaluves (major storm water drains) in Bengaluru by end of January 2022. He also held a meeting at the BBMP Head Office with respect to widening and repair of Rajakaluves to make way for easy flow of rain water to avoid flooding in low lying areas in the city.
